Poppy Seed Sangha, Fife

The Poppy Seed Sangha practices Mindfulness as taught by Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh every Thursday evening at Westbank Natural Health Centre, Strathmiglo, Fife.

Our evening often begins with a guided meditation followed by walking meditation, a reading and then a silent sit of 20 mins. We conclude the evening with Dharma Sharing that allows us to be consciously aware of our skills of deep listening and sharing from the heart.

The above format may take a different flow, depending on who facilitates for the evening, drawing on teachings from other spiritual traditions but the Sharing always remains the same: connecting, illuminating, simplicity of expression.

In the light and bright summer months we have the opportunity to walk mindfully in the small orchard, overlooking the village to the north and the Lomonds to the south. Here we watch the vibrancy of summer emerge, blossom and move into the autumn harvest, the evenings slowly lingering into the approaching winter.

Mindfulness Days are an added bonus to our practice, organised for Sundays in sangha member’s homes or alternative venues. We visited the Garden Cottage Kilgraston for our last Mindfulness Day, a beautiful retreat and spirituality centre run by the Society of the Sacred Heart.

If you’re interested in joining us on a Thursday evening please contact Cathy for more information.
