Community of Interbeing National Bursary Scheme

Community of Interbeing National Bursary Scheme

This new scheme is intended to support those with limited financial means to deepen their practice and fulfill our aspiration to promote widely the practice and teaching of Thich Nhat Hanh. It is known that Plum Village are keen to have more visits from the UK, in order to strengthen our contact with them. The scheme is in addition to the current system used for UK retreats.

Applications are invited from members who would like to take part in events at Plum Village and The European Institute of Applied Buddhism. Funds permitting, assistance will also be offered to members with children wishing to attend family retreats in the UK in future years.

This is a pilot scheme and the level of support we are able to offer will depend upon available funds and the number and type of applications we receive. A contribution of up to 50% of your costs will be considered. However we expect that the majority of awards will be less than this.

The trustees of the CoI have started the fund with £1,000 which has been taken from current resources and the small increase of £2 in the membership fee from January 2013 will add to it. We will also be launching an appeal.

The first deadline date for applications will be September 1st 2012. Thereafter the dates will be March 1st and September 1st each year.

If you would like to know more about the scheme, information will be available here Bursary Application Form or by request from: Ann Irving Tel. 01832 731557 brian.braithwaite3@btopenworld.com
